After School Programs
Everest Academy is pleased to offer a broad range of after school, evening and weekend programs for students and adults alike (descriptions of all programs shown below):
- After Hours Academic Tutoring (4:00 to 8:00 pm daily, Mon to Thurs)
- Adult and Student ESL (all levels)
- Private and semi-private music classes
- Hockey Skills development (group sessions)
- Elite fitness training
These programs address a variety of needs and are all offered by qualified and accredited educators and coaches with experience in delivering the highest quality of programs. Most programs can be enrolled in at any time and run throughout the year.
Students may also be exposed to Everest On-Line Learning Center (EOLC) (www.everestelc.com) which provides maximum flexibility during the learning experience for all academic programs.
Students do NOT have to be formally enrolled in Everest Academy as a full-time day student to participate in these programs. Availability of any program is subject to overall enrollment.

After-hours Academic Tutoring Program
Everest Academy offers an after-hours tutoring program designed to meet the needs of all learners. Students of Everest Academy’s tutoring program participate in a customized learning environment that is designed to reinvigorate the excitement for learning. This program will help build academic self-esteem and confidence.
60 minute sessions can be scheduled from 4:00 to 8:00 pm each evening from Mon to Thurs.
The tutoring program is delivered by Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certified teachers. It is designed to provide remediation for students who are struggling academically, help reconnect disenfranchised students, transition students that are having difficulty functioning in a conventional school setting and enhance the learning of students who are already experiencing academic success. Most core courses are covered including sciences, math, french and english. Students may also be exposed to on-line learning tools so they can progress at their own speed between formal tutoring sessions. Adult (Non-Credit) English as a Second Language (ESL)
Everest Academy offers English as a Second Language (ESL) programs for newcomers to Canada whose first language is not English. The goal is to develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills on and individual, customized basis.
Non-credit, ESL classes are offered year round with ongoing registration. Language acquisition for beginner to advanced levels, integrates different skill areas into each lesson. In addition, we offer a number of remedial/specialized programs from beginner to advance including listening, speaking, reading and writing. Private Music Lessons
Everest Academy’s music classes are designed to produce and promote students who have a strong interest in, and passion for, music in its various forms. This is accomplished through systematic regular practice, expert coaching, dedicated instruction, all in a positive and nurturing environment. Our students develop a solid work ethic combined with creativity in music.
Learning music can lead to a better overall education and actually improve a student’s ability to excel in other subjects at school as well as increase their self-confidence and ability to communicate with others. We strive to have our students develop skills that will enable them to grow and excel as musicians – individually as well as in a team environment We create an environment where the love of music is and will always be the focus for both students and faculty alike.
